Melanogaster Flightless-These flies have wings but cannot fly.
Hydei Fruit Flies- This is a larger species than Melanogaster. These are almost the size of pinhead crickets and are great for feeding small lizards and large insects.
Melanogaster are 1/16" (same size as a pinhead crickets). Hydei are 1/8". Both cannot fly. Great for fish fry or as a variation to your fish diet!
